Exciting Opportunities within Yorkshire Water

Based at Temple Park Leeds, you will be required to be in the office once or twice a week as this is predominantly a field based role covering the Yorkshire region.

Yorkshire Water is one of the largest water and sewerage companies within the UK, employing nearly 2,500 colleagues across the Yorkshire region.

We passionately believe that Customers are at the heart of what we do and we work hard in fulfilling our social and environmental responsibilities. Career enhancement, colleague wellbeing and a genuinely positive work experience for all are key priorities.
To help us achieve our vision of 'taking responsibility for the water environment for good' we currently have a number of exciting opportunities for permanent and fixed term contracts for Network Engineers based at our Temple Park offices in Leeds.
You will play a key role in helping us to investigate distribution management areas (DMA) whose night flows indicate high leakage but are proving difficult to solve through normal leakage detection processes. You will have access to field based colleagues to assist this process but you will have the responsibility of determining the investigatory process, analysing the results and reducing the volume of 'unaccounted for' water.

Job Details:

Working as a Network Engineer you will attend sites located in your DMA, (Leakage Monitoring Area) in your designated geographical area, therefore knowledge of streetworks would be advantageous. Knowledge of water regulation and experience of water distribution is essential as it will be down to you to help us to understand our water usage. You'll form a clear understanding of consumption patterns and be quick to identify and eliminate leaks and unnecessary usage.

In order to decrease night flows in assigned DMA's through a process of flow and pressure investigation you may be required to work evenings and weekends to further understand the 'unaccounted' for water.

You will have a practical common-sense approach to problem solving and be confident in using IT in your everyday role. You will represent the face of Yorkshire Water when meeting our customers so it is important that you have good communication and interpersonal skills, combined with flair for analysing and interpreting data.
